Spec this Product   Comparison of Geofoam Standards	RECOMMENDED USES Falcon Foam Geofoam is ideal for all geotechnical applications.  With Geofoam blocks weighing as little as 1/100th that of soil, it is a perfect fill medium for construction on soft grounds. Road embankment stability can be enhanced with a properly designed Geofoam system.  Utilizing an interlocking stack of Geofoam blocks on side slopes, horizontal movement and vertical loads can be greatly reduced. Placing Geofoam blocks directly behind retaining walls, bridge abutments, or foundation walls results in a considerable reduction of lateral stresses on the structure.  This will lead to the need for less material to construct a new wall.
WARRANTY 20 Year Limited Thermal Warranty In response to valid concerns of building designers regarding thermal efficiency of various construction assemblies and the long-term insulating value of roof insulation, Falcon Foam (a division of Atlas Roofing Corporation) offers a 20-year, limited thermal warranty. The Falcon Foam EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) Limited Thermal Warranty places Falcon Foam EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) products above all others and supports the building owner, designer and contractor by backing up thermal performance. This warranty is available to the building owner at the time the building is completed and is transferable to any subsequent owner for the duration of the 20-year period. Falcon Foam Warranty	INSTALLATION General Instructions Before installation begins, the natural soil sub grade shall be cleared of vegetation and any large sharp-edged soil particles prior to placing a geotextile and/or sand bedding layer.  The sub grade surface on which the EPS blocks will be placed shall be sufficiently smooth prior to placement of the first block layer.  EPS blocks shall be placed so that all vertical and horizontal joints between blocks are tight.  Successive layers of EPS blocks must be oriented perpendicular to the previous layer with the vertical joints offset to the greatest extent practical.   Complete Instructions
STORAGE The EPS blocks shall be ballasted and/or secured during storage and placement.  The blocks shall be covered with a light-colored opaque tarp if stored outdoors longer than two weeks.  EPS shall not be exposed to hydrocarbons or petroleum based solvents such as gasoline, diesel fuel, concrete curing compound, coal tar pitch and asphalt/mastic compounds.  EPS is combustible and shall not be exposed to flame or other ignition sources.
